Glass Project

For this project we were asked to use Brazil to render a glass with liquid inside it.  I decided to create a martini-like glass and to render three different colors of glass and liquid for each one.  The results were different pigments showing through the glasses through the different combination of colors.

To create the glass I created a profile of the desired shape and used "revolve" to create a circular surface out of the profile.  I then made the same surface except about 5% smaller and used "boolean difference" to make the entire surface into an actual glass cup.

I decided that I would create three different glasses to show some variety because not all glass is strictly clear.  I created a reflective surface for them to rest on and placed some strategic lighting effects to show the reflectivity of the liquid and the transparency of the glass.

I received some feedback that my glasses weren't clear enough and that the liquid did not look very real, so I took the necessary steps to address these problems; changing the material's settings to make them clearer or reflective respectively.  I myself also decided that the drinks themselves were a little boring so I added a paper umbrella to add a more creative feel to the visual.
